Is not testifying on your own behalf usually a sign of guilt in many cases?

First of all, I do not understand why a person would not want to get on the stand to try to defend themselves. Especially if they are suppose to be innocent. Now I know in this day and age more than ever before, lawyers are instructing their accused clients not to testify on their own behalfs. Case in point right now, the Casey Anthony trial. Her lawyers don't want her to talk and testify. However, I don't think that it would make very much difference in her case, because she has dug a big enough hole for herself with all her lies up to this point as it is and she looks guilty as sin. Troubleshooting my 91 stealth.. im almst sure the prblm is crankshaft angle or tps?

i have a 91 stealth and cannot seem to troubleshoot the problem.. it has a ruff idle, stalls, and pops out of the exhaust on idle,and gets worse on accel. it also has a iratic idle, when coming to a stop. it seems to run alittle better when choke is on or car is in cooler temps..i was wondering if anyone knows how to check and or set the tps without a scanner or computer..the tps looks like it can be adjusted, i would also ask if the crank angle sensor can be tested and adjusted acuratly without being hooked to a machine..i have a timing light, but my question is,can a crank angle be adjusted on idle to obtain correct timing.. thanks for any reply!!

Why did i woke up shivering?

This is my first time ever experiencing something like this. It was around 8 in the morning when i woke up to this, i was dreaming that i was hanging out with some friends and all of a sudden i saw a lighting then after a few seconds it was like i could feel the lighting. My whole body was "shivering" like crazy. I tried to go back to sleep and then again woke me up. Broken ribs long since healed? Could I really have broken at least 3 ribs when I was 10 and not know it?

On the left side of my chest I have a rather large, baseball sized, tissue lump that doctors have seen did an ultrasound and determined was not a tumor and quickly lost interest. The lump is on my ribs, on said left side my rib cage stops about an inch sooner than on the right side an if I put pressure on what I call "the bump" I become nauseous very quickly, I can not lay on it comfortably. I discovered size bump when I was 16 (now 21) and I have no idea where it came from, I was a ruff n tumble Tom boy and took plenty of falls and hits I probably shouldnt have. Hi we recently found a blue healer wattling around the streets and decieded to keep him. He is a puppy. A saucy one 2:) Very playful and stuff. Well when we came home he searched around the house being curious abotu everything and he went to my birds cage and the door was opened and he started to play with my bird but got really ruff with him. Then mum gets a letter from the solicitor, think it was a deed of variation . asking her to sign, which she did: then gets a confirmation that she is now 50% owner. However, the original will said it was mums but step-mother had a life interest in the property, so could live there rent free but had to pay the upkeep ( as stated in the will). trust status would continue to be in force even if step- mother brought a new property. Trust was set up for the benefit of GD's children ( my mum). the solicitor who was dealing for it on behalf of the step-mother, seems to have used a verbal ok from the step-mother, to let her gain 50% of the property, but without informing my mum fully: has my mum been mislead? also, the property is now for sale, and the step-mother wants to dissolve the trust,, so mum and her get their 50% now..not comfortable with that either. any advice would be gratefully received. we are going to seek legal advice, but need something to go on. thanks

If you can't act like things are fine (even though they aren't) then just ignore them as much as possible or act like the guy is a stranger. I'm trying to buy a used car from a private seller and he has promised to smog it to get the paper for me to show it to the DMV when I register it in my name. How to file a civil suit for neglect of repairs against my landlord?

Hello everyone..Can someone please help me, preferably an attorney or someone with legal experience. I am in Houston, TX and the central a/c unit in the property I rent has been out for 3 weeks. My Texas Real Estate Commission Lease agreement clearly states that all a/c repairs are to be completed by the owner unless there is negligence on the behalf of tenant, i.e neglecting to change filters, which i have done every month. I am not behind on my rent and my landlord keeps giving me the run around. I would like to file a civil suit to make him fix it, or pay me damages if I have to move. As you know it is extremely hot here in Houston, and I live in a town home and window units are out of the question, because I hardly have any windows upstairs and none downstairs. So how a lot of stories go there is this guy. We have been friends for about 8 years he asked me out once when were really young and I told him no because I didn't feel the same, but I promised to stay his friend and I did. I think my friend might be possessed?

I need help! I'm really scared for my best friend. I don't know if she really is possessed or maybe just is under so much stress she might be going insane. Also the stray cats near her house always seem to follow her and are constantly around her when she goes outside, same with all the crows. They'd just land next to her when she sits down. i know u guys are familiar with this, because i've asked questions on this issue before and i think he's even been on here asking. i've been called a troll, but i assure you that i'm not. ok to recap. my daughter is 22. when she was a senior in high school she got pregnant by this boy. at the time, she was a very straight laced girl. the boy that she got pregnant by was a pot user. well, they ended up parting ways.we have helped her raise the baby. she's will be 4 soon. well, when she was 9 months about, the bio dad stopped coming around, but before he went MIA he petitioned the court for visitiation and he got it. he eventually stopped coming around, never was at home when she had to take him the baby, never paid any child support either. he owes the state about 20k.. it was a battle. he wasn't interested, but his parents were, but we never got any child support, no cards on birthdays, or christmas. we didn't care for him, because he used to be a pot smoker, but visitation was ordered by the court, so we had to let the child see him. well, my daughter ended up with another bad boy and she got strung out on heavy drugs. she's now in rehab and the cyfd placed the baby with my husband and i, because we have helped raise her and the child is stable with us. well, we had a family meeting with the cyfd. this family went in lying, saying we denied them visits. there were times when she was sick, but WE HAD to show doctor's notes. they just stopped coming around. turned out that cyfd let us keep her. we got a lawyer and petitioned the court for guardianship. he's sueing us for custody and suing my daughter for child support... this little girl doesn't know them and WE NEVER denied them visits. NEVER. i'm so worried about this. the cyfd told us that we should go back to the original, court ordered visitation, but this little girl has issues, when i leave her anywhere. she doesn't know these people and i just couldn't let them take her like that. i did tell them that i'd work with them with supervised visits and slowly get her aquainted with them, but they threw a big fit and said that they are her family and they want the original visitation 3 days a week for 2 hours a visit... now they're suing us for custody. i'm so worried about this. thank you. and i promise you. i'm not a troll. thanks.. <3

Can I obtain a restraining order on behalf of my children against their mum's partner?

I am concerned for my children's well-being (aged 4 and 2). This week their mum's partner received a 'Street Caution' as he had 5 cannabis plants growing in the house that they live in. Incidentally it is also my house, my ex-partner gained the right to live there with the children about 12 months ago, which I had no problem with. Now her new partner lives there too, he's had violent episodes already and now I find out they've been growing cannabis in the basement! My brother has a black and tan coonhound hos a nine month old female. She is terribly destructive! She eats shoes. I've already had two pairs of flip-flops in two weeks. One only lasted two days. My whole family has had it up to our necks. But my brother is obsessed with the dog. He won't even punish her. She ruined my football and my sisters volleyball. She chews anything she can get her mouth on. She jumps on people, plays really rough with the other dog, so ruff the other super motherly dog even snaps at her, she bites playfully but very hard on peoples arms and hands, and if you run she'll tackle you. If you leave the garage door open she will go in and crap. There aren't very many coon around here so it's hard for us to try her on that. She's pretty small for her age and size. However, I find what helps is skipping ahead in the plot to write a part that you look forward to, a part you already have figured out and is interesting enough that you really really want to write it. Whenever me and my partner have sex It hurts is this normal?

I have been with my partner for many years now we've both done STI tests and we don't have anything however whenever we have sex with him it hurts.... sometimes during and most of the time after. We use lube when we need to but i find i am allergic to a lot of lubes out there which used to make the problem worse. So this is going to sound shallow/stupid but...?

I'm going to try and make this as short as I can. My boyfriend and I have been together 4 years, we live together. Lately, he's been treating me really bad, but I'm attached, so I'm letting him get away with it. Plus, its good 80% bad 20% and all relationship have some bad. My sisters getting married on Saturday and he's been a jerk every step of the way. Anything I have to do with her, he refuses to join, and then makes my life hell for going. Screaming at me, calling me names, mocking my family, making threats...just bad. When we get along its fantastic, as perfect as I could ever wish for. We also live together so we benefit from eachother. We have our belongings basicaly combined so if we break up and he moves out, I lose the tv in my bedroom, blu ray player, ps3, and lots of other stuff. I'm not super materialistic, which is why all those things belong to my bf and not me. I don't spend my money on things like that, but he always does. That being said, if we break up, he's taking all his stuff with him obviously, and I've gotten used to it. It makes things really ruff. We've tried splitting before. I always just miss the hell out of him ( i tend to forget the bad and focus on the good) and on top of that I miss the comfort he offered. I feel safe at my appartment when he's there, we cuddle in bed, we watch all the same shows, we do meals together, he helps me when things are to heavy ( i live on the third floor) basically, my life is just a million times easier with him around and I miss him to death when he's gone. Jasper is a 3 year old out door cat.He is exercised a lot ,and is fed daily. He is slow now, and doesn't play or pounce on my other cat Wallie anymore. But occasionally he will play ruff. Worried about mums health?

My mums the type that frets and stresses things over and over and over. She often keeps so much inside and when she finally has had enough it's awful on her behalf. I can see that emotionally/mentally this is killing her and the physical symptoms are worse; she's literally withering away. The skin on her face is hanging onto her bones that's how much it's gotten out of hand, despite the fact shes very careful with her diet (no fat reduced salt intake etc). Her only support system is me and at times my sister, what more can I do to help her? This kills me seeing my mother like that the stress she's under, what can I do to help her get back on track both mental and physical? I will not use a "dentist" who is not also a vet, but not all vets are experts in equine dentistry. I am lucky enough to have two equine dentist vets who travel through this area. That works because most equine dental issues are not emergencies. Me and my mum had a fight.?

Today I called her, she lives in another country cause my family is divorced, and asked how she is and stuff, also asked her if she promises that she won't shout and start swearing about my dad and to not force me to talk to her parents because I hate them for causing the divorce and making lies about my dad, accusing him of things that don't make sense. She said that's fine in a nice tone. We got talking about how was our day, then I said ' I'm going swimming with my friends' so she said that's good and gives an idea that once I visit her I can teach her how to swim, I say sarcastically about if I have to and overall I won't enjoy that, but still going to do it, she then says fine you don't have to, you don't love your mum fine. I got angry because she said that, she always does that whenever I don't do what she does. She then explains that she loves me always, but I say no because when I lived with her she shouted at me and verbally abused me only because I was my dads son. I close the phone while being annoyed and called my dad while her was out work, explaining the situation, and now I decided not to visit her this summer. I call her back, nearly in tears and explaining how she emotionally makes me guilty and how that annoys me, she then just says 'oh I thought you didn't love me, fine you do' I still get angry about why she even said that in the first place. I told her that I'm not going to visit her and closed the phone.

Ahh, girl. I am in like the same situation. Truthfully, I hate to say it but I really don't think there is a way to not be jealous. I have just talked to him about it and he saw it hurt me and he stopped being so flirty. Other than that, I just act like I'm not jealous, because I feel like just showing it really doesn't make the situation any better. Plus, being jealous is a good sign, it shows that you really care for him!

Should I sign a paper allowing my 2 brothers to be the executors of estate over me?

My father recently passed away and our family has moved forward with the ironing-out of the more complex details of his life. His death was very unexpected so the paperwork is not very clear. The only official will lists his wife who is also deceased at the moment. My question is at a recent family meeting, we have discussed what is going to happen in the future with establishing an estate and we have all agreed that the assets will be divided 4 ways between all 4 siblings, but that 2 of my brothers will be made the executors on behalf of all 4. In order for this to happen my family has told me I and my other brother will need to sign off allowing them to become executors. Should I do this? Or should I ask to also be named an executor? My only concern is that the executors will not be fair in dividing up the assets.

My children went to their dads for two weeks. We have joint custody and there is no primary. He kept them for two weeks because Father's Day came on the week I was supposed to have them and my sons birthday was that week as well. On Sunday the 26th the boys came back from their father's house and my four year old told me that he no longer wanted to go to his daddy's house and that his daddy was mean to him. I asked him what happened and he said "daddy calls me a little b word and he kicks me." When we got home from picking them up I noticed that he had two bruises on his face and I asked him what happened and he said that his daddy grabbed has face really hard. I asked him why his daddy was doing this stuff and he said because he was bad and threw a temper tantrum. I called the local police and the police where the children's father lives and I also notified DCFS. I took them to the doctor and to the Child Protection Team doctor. The CPT concluded that with what my son was telling them while I was out of the room, that they see it posing a problem for them to go back to their dads. If I go to the courthouse and file a restraining order against him on the kids behalf will they give it to me. My son is scared and he doesn't act the same anymore. He won't sleep without a light on, if I go somewhere in the next room he screams don't leave me... I am so unbelievable stressed and scared for my childrens lives. Postponement of arraignment to hire different attorney?

Hello, today is currently Sunday the 19th, and I'm a little behind looking for advice, whereas my first court appearance is scheduled for 9am this upcoming Tuesday. The case is a charge of 1 count commercial burglary, felony, currently out on bond with 9 days time served. I have been appointed a public defender, and I do not believe he has my best interest in mind and would like to seek a hired attorney, but obviously I'm limited on time constraints. I've been through this once before, but I can't quite remember proper terminology or how to pursue doing it. I suppose first I would need to notify the public defender and let him know my intentions, but my main concern is the arraignment. Briefly explain to the judge im still seeking council? I believe the last time, he entered a plea of not guilty on my behalf, set a court-date, and filed a change of plea? Does any of that sound correct? So my question directly would be how to proceed.

Does your dog feel empathy?

I was always under the impression that dogs are supposed to feel empathy towards their owners when they are sick or not feeling well, but my dog was jumping all over my husband today when he was recovering from surgery - she is obviously lacking in the empathy department. Just curious - does your dog (s) display empathy? Or do you think this is just wishful thinking on the owner's behalf?

Im Freaking my boyfriend out! what should i do?

I am totally and completely in love with my boyfriend we plan on getting married. We are very open and honest with each other and some personal issues i have are freaking him out.
