Can you be too gentle during sex ?

my bf is always ruff with me and i like it but when we start have sex it just stops and and gets boring. I'm a freak so i like crazy hot sex be he likes to be gentle and that doesn't work for me... i need help can anybody tell me how to talk about this to him...PLZZZZZZ
