Need help remembering a movie?

I am trying to remember a movie in which a man is about to move because his friends and neighbors notice that he hasn't seemed to age in the movie he tells this elaborate story of how he is immortal and might be the origin for the story of Jesus. these are all the details i remember at the moment but if you know this movie or even one with a similar story line please let me know ( i like a good story ). On a side note i believe the actor telling the story was black but i can't remember for sure so no promises on that part. like i said little to go on but it's worth a shot.
