Really cheesy love help needed!?

I have fallen completely in love with someone who lives in Australia. He promised he loves me too but a day or so ago he told me he was still in love with his ex, doesn't know if he loves me any more and left me. I've asked for another chance and he says there might be one for us but he's not sure. Do I stick around and wait or do I try and get over him? Really need some advice guys, it really hurts!
