I can honestly say that I've never heard a kid/teenager use that as an excuse. I'm assuming that when you have kids (the way you've worded it) you'll be having them by blood as opposed to adoption. It's very important to make aware to your kids from the beginning that contrary to whatever the public may think, you're being gay is not a factor that somehow negatively affects your parenting skills, nor is it something that somehow makes you less than respectable like any heterosexual adult. It's a good response, but I think you're over-worrying :)
